You will not get another 6 months, if you go anywhere in North America.
You need to go Europe or Asia.
Extension is no longer allowed. It was allowed 2 years back.
Only way is to go out to India, or apply extension with USCIS.

So you are good to go. This means, when the company applied for your H1, they also applied for your wife's extension using form I-539.
When your wife presents the I-797 in her name, a new I-94 will be given upto 12/25/2009.
There are few cases, where out of ignorance or negligence, they do not apply I-539 while applying for H1, thereby jeopardising h4 status.
In your case, it has been done right. so no worries.

My I140 is transfered to TSC and so my attorney sent I-485/ I-765/ I-131 to TX... I was actually worried if this is okay -- I thought all I-485 no matter what have to be sent to NSC...
My attorney gave me FedEx tracking number and it shows it's delivered to Garland, TX and signed by B. Thomas. Is anybody familiar with this name? I thought TSC is in Msquite, TX and I am worried if my application has been sent to a wrong address... I sent all of my application in July 24th...

My H1 extension expires on March 08, Have EAD, Work for the same employer who sponsered my GC.
Does my employer has to apply for my H1 extension ? Should I use EAD to work with my same employer (what paper work I have to do ?).
Hypothical question, If I use EAD to work, lets say there is a delay in getting my EAD renewed even though I apply 120 days in advance, should I stop working and start working only after I get my new EAD ??

I dont know of any insurance companies that cover pre-existing conditions..the older one is more the more expensive insurance is and not to mention pre existing conditions and all toehr terms and conditions jargon........ so be very careful... and good luck with your situation...

I am inclined to believe that you are approved.. they just haven't updated their system yet or mabybe the system didn't get updated somehow.

Hi,
My company has applied for my wife's L1B to L2 conversion on 28-OCT-2008 at Vermont Service Center. Anyone knows how much time typically it takes for this request?
When we are checking USCIS website, we are getting the following message continuously. My wife called to USCIS and USCIS said, case status is valid only in the system and the person does not know why that error message is coming.
"Validation Error(s)
You must correct the following error(s) before proceeding:
Your case can not be found at this time in Case Status Online. Please check your receipt number and try again. If you need further assistance, you can either call the National Customer Service Center at 1.800.375.5283, or you can send an e-mail to uscis.webmaster@dhs.gov."
We are thinking that probably lots of applications are pending and that could be the reason. Once they pick up, it will be changed to Case received and pending and finally a decision will come.
Do you know if this is something we need to worry about that something might be wrong which might cause a long delay? Actually my wife is pregnant and she can travel back by air only till January 15th, 2008 at the maximum. So we are just worried.

Seems like AP takes a longer route to the mail box in USCIS... Mine is at NSC and my experience is that everything out of there is slower...
Anyways I am greatful that they approved it and its in mail ( fingers crossed )

Interesting. This is my first autofocus camera. Maybe I'm trusting autofocus too much? I'll try again with a smaller aperture and maybe do a manual focus. Maybe it's just a learning curve, but I have this camera with all of this automation and it seems that, more often than not, I'm shooting in manual mode and now considering using manual focus. With my AE-1 and A-1 bodies I rarely used the automated modes. I was hoping the 300D would be better, but it seems that when I use an automated mode I'm not happy with the settings it chooses. Do you folks with the professional cameras use the automated settings very often? How about autofocus?Or do I just need to get better at understanding the automated capabilities and use them properly.

I just received a FP notice for my wife scheduled for Sep 19, 2007. I have not received mine yet (I am the primary applicant), I have a few questions regarding this. Please help me if you have any information.

Does any one know how much time DOL takes to reply on PERM Withdrawal application. I filled for my labor application in i think JUN/JUL 07 than it got audited, after sending audit reply it got denied in APR 08. I told my company not to apeal this case but they did. After pushing hard to file a new PERM now we are waiting for the earlier PERM application to be withdrawn (the one that was appealed). Everybody waits for there PERM approval, I-140 or 485 but the strange fact is i am waiting for my PERM to be withdrawn so i can file a new one.
Please help if someone has any idea about the time taken to withdraw a PERM application.

Dude....think....How much is the GC worth to you. Things can change in an instant and might take ages to get the I-140 processed. Who knows? no one. Is there a guarantee that you will get it in 4 months? But something is for sure.....

i also find it disturbing that USCIS is trying to define its own definition of employer-employee relationship. As long as a company pays a person, that person is employee. They have no right to demand that there needs to be immediate supervisor from same company onsite or that company needs to provide the itinerary for employee.
I know job market is bad, but hunting down H1b's is not going to make it better.

As far as i know H1-B is not a requirement, but having it provide you fall back option. If you have not used AC21 and your old I-140 gets canceled( for any reason) before new I-140 approval, you will land in trouble.
The employer has to prove that there is a EB-2( Master's/Bachelor +5 yrs) job available and he can not find a qualified US Citizen/Permanent Resident for that job to get new PERM approval. DOL checks PERM job requirements against their database, and most of the time software jobs with Job descriptions of Master's or Bachelor +5 yrs required gets audited by DOL so we can not really predict how long does it take to get PERM approval.
After PERM a second audit on job requirement comes from the USCIS at I-140, once these two hurdles passed you need to send a ltr to USCIS to port I-485 category and date.
Based on the posts on this forum, if no audits, PERM is getting approved in about 8 months and I-140 in about 6 months.

As this poll is specifically for the cases transferred from NSC -- CSC --- NSC, can you add more options, like the receipt notices generated between Aug 25 to Sept 10, Sept 11 to Sept 25 and Sept 25 to current.
There would be lot of people in these three categories.
Very much intrested in knowing status of all the cases that have transferred from NSC to CSC and back to NSC.

Hi Bee-- Great post clarifiying the IV cause. I am a volunteer for IV, but my labour is still pending at PBEC (Jul 2002 CA EB2 RIR). When we met the Congress Persons in Bay Area last week, we did talk about the labour certification backlogs. In fact, the immigration staff at both the places were aware of the labour backlogs (even though one of them didn't know about the retrogression). IV is representing the labour certification backlogs and asking for transparency in the backlog centers.
